SUSTAINABILITY ICOM partners with the OECD to release a Guide for Local Governments, Communities and Museums
With an aim of highlighting the role museums play in local development the ICOM and OECD Guide for Local Governments, Communities and Museums is a road map for local governments, museums and museum professionals on how to jointly define a local development agenda that promotes a more sustainable future. During 2017 and 2018, several ICOM committee representatives and members met regularly and worked together with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and ICOM Secretariat for the creation of the Guide.
The Challenges of Museum Collections Today: Call for ICOM-ITC grants
ICOM, ICOM China and the Palace Museum award full and partial grants to attend the upcoming workshop of the ICOM International Training Centre for Museum Studies (ICOM-ITC), which will be held in Beijing, China, from 10 to 18 April 2019.
Displaying Music in the 21st Century: Call for contributions
The ICOM International Committee of Music Museums (CIMCIM) is preparing a book proposal to continue the ICOM/Routledge series ‘Advances in Museum Research’ with a volume entitled Displaying Music in the 21st Century.
